Rev. Fr. Patrick D'Rosarrio was appointed as the first Principal and the administration of the school was entrusted to Rev.Fr. Chinnayan, the first Correspondent of our school. Initially, there were six class rooms and 87 boys i n classes 3 to 6. The management was keen to extend the benefits of English Medium to the students of Coimbatore and its suburbs

In July 1965, Rev. Fr. Antony Lawrence took charge as the principal. He was instrumental in securing recognition from the University of Madras in August 1966. Affiliation to the University ensured quality education by qualified teachers. I n 1969-70 Standard XI was started and the first batch appeared for the Matriculation Examination, in March 1970 securing cent percent results.

Principal and Correspondent (1966–1972)

Rev. Fr. Maria Mudiappan succeeded Rev. Fr. Antony Lawrence in Ju ne 1972. Built on strong foundation, Carmel Garden was shaped into a model institution known for its rigorous academic standards and excellent discipline. Several welfare measures were introduced for the benefit of the staff. The year 1977-78 marked the end of the old Matric eleven-year pattern.

Our Principals

Rev. Fr. Joseph Fleix

Principal, Carmel Garden

Rev. Fr. Joseph Fleix, vice Principal then was promoted as Principal. He introduced computer education with the inagurationof Fr. Mudiappan Computer Center in 1986. Fr. Fleix’s tenure culminated in the Silver Jubilee Celebration ofthe School in 1989-90

Rev. Fr. Maria Antony Raj

Principal, Carmel Garden

Rev. Fr. Maria Antony Raj took over. He constructed a can. teen and a hall above the canteen. He bought a bus for the school and renovated the aud itor ium

Rev. Fr.A.l.Sundar Raj

Principal, Carmel Garden

Rev. Fr.A.l.Sundar Raj took charge on 2nd June 2003. A new office for the   Principal, Computerized office, An open air stage in the north east corner of the play ground and extension of the primary section were  new addition to   the school for 2003-04. A separate block for Nursery was built in May 2005

Rev.Fr.A.Paulraj took charge on 1st September 2006. He constructed a new hall for yoga practice. He also tarred the front spaces of the Nursery  building and behind the main building.

Rev.Fr.A.Maria Joseph

Principal, Carmel Garden

Rev.Fr.A.Maria Joseph assumed the responsibility on 4th June 2011. The academic year 2011-12 proved yet another mile­ stone in the annals of Carmel Garden for Master P.L. Muthuraman notched up the ‘Second Top’ position in the district.

His  time  witnessed   the  Golden Jubilee  celebration of the school, a  year long festivity of events which culminated with a three days celebration in August 2014.

Girls were admitted for the first time from L.K.Gto VI standard to the academic year  2016-17

Rev.Fr.A.Paulraj

Rev.Fr.A.Paulraj  took over as the Principal for the second term in June 2016. Generating a visionary mind and leadership philosophy, he is tasked with establishing  a collective vision for the School expansion by admitting girls to all classes reflecting the status of the 21st century society

Rev. Fr. Dr. Arokiya Thadayus succeeded Rev. Fr. A. Paulraj in June 2023. Built on strong foundation, Carmel Garden was shaped into a model institution known for its rigorous academic standards and excellent discipline. Several welfare measures were introduced for the benefit  of the staff.

 

Main Building was renovated and enhancement for studying  peaceful atmosphere was regenerated
